It had this game on it but it was just a demo only and It was only playable for an hour only and once that hour was gone you couldnt play it anymore until you buy it fully, and so as a kid i wanted to play so bad, so the young me went online and downloaded the trials on everyweb site I could Find until I couldnt play it anymore. My parents gotten a computer from a friend and it was our first Pc. If you ever wanted to life the life of a historical merchant or privateer, or if you need something simple an distracting as a break from your latest story-driven, action-heavy game, then maybe give one of these a try! I had a lot of fond memories playing Tradewinds Classic on my family's desktop years ago, and I was happy to see this little gem pop up on Steam along with sequels I had never heard of. Overall, it's a fun little bundle of games at an affordable price - they're not masterpieces of innovation, and they don't have the shiniest or most realistic graphics (although I really like the art in them), but they're simple and fun (and at times addictive), and better yet, each game offers something a little different, so even if you don't like the playstyle of one of them, then you haven't necessarily wasted your money. You might have more fun with it than I did, though. Kinda felt like it was heavily aimed towards little kids.

Plus it's got a cheeky sense of humor that I found quite endearing, something that sets it apart from the former game, which was largely devoid of personality.Дidn't really play more than thirty minutes of Tradewinds Legends - it felt like it had too much going on and threw too much at you in the beginning, whereas Tradewinds 2 gradually introduced all the deviations and upgrades from Tradewinds Classic. Definitely the best from a technical standpoint of the three, and good if you want something more complex than Classic. It does entice you with replayability, though, by offering new character unlocks, custom character options (unlocked by beating the main story once, I think) and a couple other game modes that I have yet to try. Also, I haven't finished the story mode, because it's really more just a string of sidequests that I think are eventually supposed to lead towards your character's goal - I dunno, I saw progress in terms of islands unlocked and more powerful ships, but I never got to the point where I thought I was close to achieving my character's lifetime mission she just kinda got caught up in politics and trading. The sequel definitely has some welcome improvements, such as a story mode that gives the game some much-needed longevity, but I found it to be a bit buggier - dunno if anyone else had problems with their saves, but whenever I would save and reload, it'd set me back to about five or ten minutes before I made the save, effectively erasing that progress and forcing me to retread some ground.

But it's good for a while, and you can always start over and see if your luck changes. Once you get really rich and you build up your perfect fleet, the game stops being very challenging, and thus you'll probably lose interest. The first game's simplicity makes it an ideal choice if you just want to throw on a game for an hour or two and see how you fare, but once you master the fairly simple 'buy low, sell high' mechanics, you'll inevitably cruise towards millionaire status as long as RNGesus doesn't take a dump on you (which does happen, with either stagnant prices for goods or a dearth of affordable ships for sale, but that just made me want to start over and hope for better luck).

Nothing super complex or groundbreaking, but it's a lot of fun to build your trade empire/privateer armada from nothing. It's sort of a trade simulator, I guess - each game has you take control of a captain with one or more ships under your control, and you sail around a historically significant trade sea buying and selling goods, fighting off pirates, and maybe engaging in some little quests or tomfoolery depending on the game. I mostly play Tradewinds Classic (the first and simplest one), but I've played a fair amount of Tradewinds 2, as well. Pretty good game for $5, even better if you can get it on sale.
